I am very happy to announce that Anne Zanoni is coming on board to Electric Velocipede as my assistant editor. So, in the coming weeks and months, you might be hearing from Anne relating to Electric Velocipede things. She'll even post here now and again.
She will take on a lot of tasks that are small but time-consuming, leaving me with more time for editing. Anne will also help ensure that we're getting the magazine out to review places, year's best editors, and awards juries. Essentially, Anne will make the whole endeavor more efficient.
Briefly, Anne worked with Steven Brust for a few years, and currently works a freelance copyeditor and proofreader (for places like LOCUS, Shimmer, and Electric Velocipede). During this last issue's production process, Anne asked if I would be interested in taking her on as an assistant editor. She knew I was looking for help, and she has the right background.
I'm very excited to add Anne to the (very small) Electric Velocipede family. I think this is a really good thing, and I look forward to having Anne coming on board and helping make Electric Velocipede even more of a success.

Woot!
Anne is the cat's whiskers! :)
Oh, right on. Anne's done a terrific job at Shimmer; neat to see her expanding her reach!

Congratulations! That is great news! :)
Congrats!
Welcome aboard Anne!
That is cool news! I know you're pretty busy. A helping hand never hurts.
John does a much better introduction than I do!
Thanks, everyone. I am so very pleased. This will be FUN.
Um, I liked proofreading tech manuals too, so trust me, it's how I am.

Congratulations, Anne!
Of course, this does mean that at next year's World Fantasy you have to attend JohnCon...;-)
Thanks!
What's JohnCon, Jetse?
I'll be at WFC 2010. But San Jose would be a bit of a hike.

What is Johncon? Well, simply put, Johncon is a celebration of me. It's slowly becoming THE party to be at when at World Fantasy. See photos here.
People have a good time. :)
Oh... my.
I wish Readercon wasn't right before Pennsic. It would be easier to get to Readercon than San Jose next year. argh!
