I agree with ABW. I have no idea who that other publisher/magazine is, but my limited experience with EV has shown you to be a fairly decent person, and you do things for a logical and decent purposes. IMHO.
When I think about it too much, the gender thing bothers me. And when it bothers me I get too extreme and when I get too extreme, I don't write well. I just yell. In the end, what's more important to me is trying to write my best. And I hope that that will take me where it's supposed to take me.
