Feel the Love

Well it's nice to try an open thread and then realize that crickets can't type! Just kidding; it's not something I normally do and it probably wasn't clear that I was looking for people to fill up the comments on my last post. (I'll ignore the possibility that people don't love me, that's just too tragic for words)

Back from Iowa. It was a good trip, but still some time before I can talk about it. I got the Lemony Snicket, Jon Armstrong (more on this in its own post), and the Wexler read. When I tried to delete the Wexler novel off my Palm Pilot, I also deleted the Caselberg story collection, so that it made it difficult to read. I brought the wrong issue #12 folder, so I didn't get that done. And I barely scratched the surface on the Bill Shunn chapbook since I wasn't in Iowa just to read.

So what did everyone else do over the past few days?

Had a vasectomy. I didn't get much reading done either. :)

(One doesn't get a setup like that very often these days. Nor is the procedure a regular occurrence either. So, I take 'em where I can.)

I've just still been mulling over your suggested topics of conversation, and I haven't really come up with any answers. There are lots of authors whose work I'd love to publish...but is this "Author X doesn't write enough short stories. I wish she would publish more"? Or is it "If I publish author Y, maybe then everyone else will know how cool he is"?

I dunno. I'm pretty new to the whole publishing authors biz altogether. I'm still genuinely amazed people contribute to my zine.

But much love for EV. Don't mistake silence for lack of interest.

I was in Aruba for work. The Aruba part was great. The work part...not so much. But I can't really complain...

Wow! That's a wide variety of things that kept people busy. Hopefully Mark your procedure was something you had planned....

You get so used to instantaneous repsonse these days that when things don't happen right away (note the thoughtful William Shunn comment on the previous post) you wonder if something's wrong.

You see, I'm not a patient man...

I spent the weekend working on a couple of books! And reading a couple. And taking the dog to the park. And seeing a movie or two. And having a whisky with my lovely wife.

What have I done. Let's see, today is Thursday. The undertray came off my car, so I had to take that in. Uh. Got the reviews back on my manuscript. Uh. Nothing.
